When to Use
- When you want to assign metadata to all the searched assets.
- When you want to assign metadata to all the assets which are not visible in the Asset Browser after search. AssetBrowser typically shows top 1000 matches, but if you want to assign metadata to all the matching assets use Search and Execute to assign metadata.
Example scenario:
- I want to assign IPTC_Camera Model metadata on all the assets present in project /Fuji X390/ project. This project has more than 5000 assets and Asset Browser only shows me the first 1000 assets in search.
Steps:
- Open Asset Browser
- Go to Advanced Search.
- Enter the criteria you want to search for.
- Click on the Search button.
- Make sure you are seeing the results as per your criteria.
- Open the Advanced Search panel again. Double check the entered values.
- Save the Advanced Search. See the image below for reference. Please choose a meaningful name.
- Click on the Search and Execute Icon from in front of the saved search in the Saved Searched Panel. See image below:
- Select report type CSV and Action: Assign Metadata.
- Click on the Select Metadata button. See image below:
- Fill in the values you want to assign.
- Click on the Execute button to submit the Search and Execute job on the backend.
- Check after sometime, new metadata values are assigned to all the matching assets.
