Release Notes for Zoom 9

Zoom 9.0.0-RELEASE.480 is the first release in the Siachen series. It includes updates for the Linux and Windows servers, Mac and Windows clients, and carries all the enhancements and fixes from previous releases.

New Features and Enhancements

• The user interface for the Zoom Desktop and WebClient applications has been upscaled for better product discoverability and a more intuitive user experience. This includes improved visual recall and association of functions using meaningful icons, revamped menus, as well as reworded and better-positioned tooltips
• The applications now provide access to select help articles on various Zoom features at the fingertips of the users; this help content may be easily curated by the administrators so that their users see what is relevant for their deployment
• A quick-and-easy way of sharing assets via e-mails has been added
• Zoom search has been augmented with the ability to search for assets based on their linkages like smart copies and smart links
• Collections users now have the ability to organize them using personal bins
• Collections can now be shared using password-protected links
• Support for searching within collections has been added
• Support for creation and upload of Creative Cloud project templates (with and without links) by end users added
• Users are now able to attach Creative Cloud proxies using the Zoom plugins
• Zoom admins can now configure Media Encoder presets for After Effects users in the Zoom Management Console
• A context menu was added to the Advanced Search results
• Filters have been enhanced with more categories including information related to AI processing
• Advanced Search has been enhanced to include AI search criteria to get more accurate results
• Advanced Search performance for looking up AI data has been improved
• Support for downloading client logs was added to the Zoom Desktop app
• Remote client hub logs can now be downloaded from the Zoom Management Console
• Zoom Client will now assign default local workspaces for Zoom-related files during setup. This change will make the first time setup easier and less burdensome
• Collections experience has been enriched with the addition of the following:
  • Pagination has been added while browsing assets inside the collections
  • All vs Mine filters have been added, which gives the ability for the end users to selectively distinguish between collections they are part of vs. collections that they created
  • Breadcrumbs have been added to improve navigation experience
  • Right-click menu added over collections exposing a variety of functions for easy access
