{"id":8604,"date":"2018-05-17T06:28:21","date_gmt":"2018-05-17T06:28:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/evolphin.com\/help\/?p=8604"},"modified":"2020-05-18T07:46:29","modified_gmt":"2020-05-18T11:46:29","slug":"setting-up-vantage-server-for-videofx","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/evolphin.com\/help\/administration-server\/video-fx\/setting-up-vantage-server-for-videofx\/","title":{"rendered":"Setting up Vantage Server for VideoFX"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Vantage Server uses workflows to guide the flow of assets between servers and manage user intervention in that flow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before proceeding with setting up the Vantage Server workflows, please make sure that these prerequisites are met if you are using Zoom version before 7.3:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"warning\">Skip the Prerequisites and Validating Zoom Client sections for Zoom 7.3+ and go straight to setting up Vantage workflows.<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prerequisites<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ensure that the following requirements are met:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Mount points<\/span> are set up on this Vantage Server as listed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/evolphin.com\/help\/docs\/video-fx\/configuring-zoom-videofx\/#set-up-a-shared-network-location\">here<\/a>.\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ES_SAN (SAN Volume shared with Zoom services) is mounted as Z:\/ using the mount.bat script if configuring using the default mount path (Z:)<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Strawberry Perl<\/span> is installed as listed in the environment setup <a href=\"\/docs\/api\/perl-sdk\/perl-sdk\/\">here<\/a>.<\/li><li>If using AWS S3 archiving, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Python and AWS CLI<\/span> are installed as listed in the environment setup <a href=\"https:\/\/evolphin.com\/help\/docs\/video-fx\/configuring-zoom-videofx\/#environment-setup-on-all-servers\">here<\/a>.<\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ignore this step if DNS is being used instead of the <\/span>hosts file. If the hosts file is being used, please ensure Windows hosts file (under C:\\Windows\\System32\\drivers\\etc) has the entries similar to below specified (adjust based on your IP addresses\/hostnames): <ol><li>10.0.1.78 vantage.evolphinpoc<\/li><li>10.0.1.81 preview.evolphinpoc<\/li><li>10.0.1.80 mam.evolphinpoc<\/li><li>10.0.1.75 essan.evolphinpoc <\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>Zoom Client for Windows is installed.<\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Vantage workflows<\/span> are imported into Telestream:<\/span> <ol><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hires Ingest<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Van_convert_flv<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vantage module\/task licenses are installed to allow metadata extraction, notify action, and transcoding to be performed using the above workflows.<\/span> <\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Validating the Zoom Client<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The zm.exe CLI (command line interface) is used by the Perl scripts (to be installed later) to invoke various API calls to the <\/span>Zoom MAM server. The correct version of Zoom Client will automatically configure the zm.exe CLI.<\/li><li>To test simply execute zm from the Powershell, you should see a version dump on the terminal with no path errors:<br><br>> zm version<br><br>You should see output similar to below on the console. The client version should be same or compatible with<strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the server version for your Zoom MAM server:<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6631 \" src=\"https:\/\/evolphin.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/img_59d5692c5bd80.png\" alt=\"\"><\/span><\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Vantage Workflows<\/h2>\n\n\n<div data-post-id=\"8583\" class=\"insert-page insert-page-8583 \">\n<p>You can request a sample workflow from Evolphin Support<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to get started.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hires Ingest<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Van_convert_flv (not needed if using default converter based on software <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>FFmpeg<\/em><\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for preview creation)<\/span><br><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6628 \" src=\"https:\/\/evolphin.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/img_59d5682fb6519.png\" alt=\"\">  <figure><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8721 \" src=\"https:\/\/evolphin.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/img_5b0fc8a6a774b.png\" alt=\"\"><\/figure><p id=\"qEtHuax\"><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The exported workflows can be imported into the Vantage Lightspeed server.<\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"mdhiresworkflow\"><\/a>Metadata groups in high-res ingest workflow<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep a note of the metadata group codes that are referenced in the workflow set for high-res ingest. These metadata groups will be later configured while setting up VideoFX. For example, in the following image, the metadata group code PRVP is being used. This should be saved to be configured later on so that it is populated accordingly after mid-res proxy is generated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/evolphin.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/img_5b0fc6411d50d.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8720\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Variables in high-res ingest workflow<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep a note of the variables used in the workflow set for high-res ingest. These variables will be mapped later on while setting up VideoFX. For example, in the following image, the variable&nbsp;<code class=\"\">zoomHiResProResOutFile<\/code> is being shown in the workflow. This should be saved to be configured later on so that data could be&nbsp;exchanged between Zoom and Vantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/evolphin.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/img_5b0fcc25a20b4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8723\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Validating the van_convert_flv workflow<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whenever a preview is requested in Zoom VAB, the above Vantage workflow is invoked if the default converter in Zoom has been switched to Vantage. The workflow is integrated with Zoom Preview server, it allows Preview Server to offload preview generation to Vantage for video assets. For more details on how to configure Zoom to switch to Vantage media converter please see <a title=\"Vantage Media Converter\" href=\"https:\/\/evolphin.com\/help\/docs\/zoom-server\/preview\/vantage-media-converter\/\">this article<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To validate, locate any Video asset in VAB &nbsp;and try to generate a preview using right click context menu option in VAB. If the workflow is working correctly a preview request should be sent to Vantage. Once the transcode\/flip is finished the user in VAB will be able to play a preview of the video.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Optimizing the Vantage Workflows<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The workflows supplied by Evolphin are meant to be a starting point.
