{"id":8301,"date":"2018-05-04T12:17:26","date_gmt":"2018-05-04T12:17:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/evolphin.com\/help\/?p=8301"},"modified":"2020-08-05T11:02:48","modified_gmt":"2020-08-05T15:02:48","slug":"videofx-parameters-during-installation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/evolphin.com\/help\/administration-server\/video-fx\/videofx-parameters-during-installation\/","title":{"rendered":"VideoFX Configuration Parameters"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As part of installing the scripts needed by <span class=\"keyword\">VideoFX<\/span> for Zoom 7.2 or below, a configuration file needs to be set up for the installer, as described <a href=\"https:\/\/evolphin.com\/help\/docs\/video-fx\/script-installer-for-videofx\/\">here<\/a>. This file holds all parameters needed to be set up for the servers in a VideoFX setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"warning\">These steps are only used for Zoom versions up to 7.2. These are not needed from Zoom 7.3 onwards.<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><a id=\"above\"><\/a>Before updating this config.ini file, you need to make sure these are ready:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Your mounted paths and server environments are ready as&nbsp;described in this <a href=\"https:\/\/evolphin.com\/help\/docs\/video-fx\/configuring-zoom-videofx\/#set-up-a-shared-network-location\">post<\/a>.<\/li><li>New Zoom user accounts are ready to be used exclusively by each server in this setup (therefore, 3 accounts in all). These user accounts must be mapped to the superadmin role.&nbsp;Check <a href=\"https:\/\/evolphin.com\/help\/docs\/zoom-server\/managing-users-roles-permissions-in-zoom-7-0\/#managing-users\">this<\/a> post for details about how to create a user.<\/li><li>File types, directory locations, and file sizes are decided on for use in high-res and direct ingest.<\/li><li>Vantage Server workflows are set up. Check <a href=\"https:\/\/evolphin.com\/help\/docs\/video-fx\/vantage-workflows\/\">here<\/a> for details.<\/li><li>If you are setting up SSL on your servers, make sure to set up all servers as directed <a href=\"https:\/\/evolphin.com\/help\/docs\/ssl\/ssl-support-for-core-zoom-operations\/\">here<\/a>.&nbsp;If you are using a commercial certificate, no other setup is needed. But, if you are using a self-signed SSL certificate, then copy this certificate to all your servers and the path to this certificate will be saved in this config.ini file.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"note\">If you are using Archive module, then you also need to create workflows in Zoom for Archive\/Restore. Check <a href=\"https:\/\/evolphin.com\/help\/docs\/api\/writing-workflow-auto-task-scripts\/\">here<\/a> for information on creating these workflows.<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"note\">While enabling SSL, Ingest Server is set up as a Preview Server, while the Vantage Server is set up as Zoom Client machine.<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember, this configuration file hosts the whole lot of configurable parameters associated with the VideoFX setup. Some parameters will not apply to your setup. Any optional parameters will begin with &#8220;If you are using Archive Module with S3, then&#8230;..&#8221;. You may skip the optional parameters that are not needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is an overview of the steps we need to take with this config.ini file:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Update the config.ini file with values specific to your setup.<\/li><li>Copy this config.ini file along with the extracted scripts package over to all the three servers (Zoom MAM server, Ingest Server and Vantage Server).<\/li><li>Update a few server-specific parameters and run the installer script on each server.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, we are ready to update the configuration file!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Open <span class=\"keyword\">config.ini<\/span> file for editing on any one server machine. Now, we will set these values in the file:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Under the section [<code class=\"\">ZOOMSERVER<\/code>], set these properties: <ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\"><li>Set <code class=\"\">serverURL<\/code> as your Zoom MAM Server&#8217;s URL including the port. For example, <span class=\"keyword\">http:\/\/myZoomMAMServer:8880<\/span><\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">webminURL<\/code> as your Web Management Console&#8217;s URL including the port. For example, <span class=\"keyword\">http:\/\/myZoomMAMServer:8443<\/span><\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">serverUsername<\/code> and\u00a0<code class=\"\">serverPassword<\/code> with the user credentials of the super admin account created for the current server. <\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>Under the section <code class=\"\">[PREVIEWSERVER]<\/code>, set\u00a0<code class=\"\">reviewServerURL<\/code> as your Preview Server&#8217;s URL including the port.<\/li><li>For the Zoom MAM Server and the Ingest Server which are Linux boxes: <ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\"><li>Under the section <code class=\"\">[ENVIRONMENT]<\/code>, set these properties: <ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-roman;\"><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">zmPath<\/code> as the path to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>zm<\/em><\/span> executable inside the bin directory in your Zoom Installation location. Usually, this path is <span class=\"keyword\"><em>\/home\/evolphin\/zoom\/bin\/zm<\/em><\/span>.<\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">zmInstallDir<\/code> as the path where Zoom is installed. Usually, this is\u00a0<span class=\"keyword\"><em>\/home\/evolphin\/zoom<\/em><\/span>.<\/li><li>If you are using a self-signed SSL certificate, then set\u00a0<code class=\"\">sslSeflSignCertPath<\/code> as the path to your self-signed SSL certificate for the current server. For example,\u00a0<span class=\"keyword\">\/home\/evolphin\/zoom\/conf\/trust.jks<\/span>. <\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>Under the section <code class=\"\">[MOUNTPREFIX]<\/code>, set these properties: <ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-roman;\"><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">TPMPrefix<\/code>\u00a0as the path to the\u00a0root folder on a shared network location where the high-res assets will be saved after ingest. For example, <span class=\"keyword\">\/mnt\/P-SAN<\/span>.<\/li><li>Set <code class=\"\">archivePrefix<\/code>\u00a0as the path to\u00a0root folder for archive staging that is set up on a shared network location, where the assets are moved-to after archiving, before going to the permanent archive location. For example, \u00a0<span class=\"keyword\">\/mnt\/ES_SAN<\/span>.<\/li><li>Set <code class=\"\">zmInOutPrefix<\/code> as the path to a folder that is used to share ingest related data between the client machines and script executors. For example,\u00a0<span class=\"keyword\">\/Volumes\/usan\/.zoom-deploy\/zoom-proxy-inout<\/span>.<\/li><li>Set <code class=\"\">workspaceRoot<\/code> as the path to a shared network folder from where the high-res assets are checked-in from. For example,\u00a0<span class=\"keyword\">\/Volumes\/usan\/hiresinput<\/span>.  <\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>For the Vantage Server, which is a Windows box: <ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\"><li>Under the section [<code class=\"\">WIN_ENVIRONMENT<\/code>], set these properties: <ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-roman;\"><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">zmPath<\/code>\u00a0as the path to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>zm.exe<\/em><\/span> inside bin directory in your Zoom Installation location. Usually, this path is <span class=\"keyword\"><em>C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Evolphin\\DAM\\bin\\zm<\/em><\/span>.<\/li><li>If you are using a self-signed SSL certificate, then set\u00a0<code class=\"\">sslSeflSignCertPath<\/code> as the path to your self-signed SSL certificate for the current server. For example, <span class=\"keyword\">C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Evolphin\\DAM\\conf\\trust.jks<\/span>. <\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>Under the section [<code class=\"\">WIN_MOUNTPREFIX<\/code>], set these properties: <ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-roman;\"><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">TPMPrefix<\/code> as the path to the\u00a0root folder on a shared network location where the high-res assets will be saved after ingest. For example, <span class=\"keyword\">\\\\P-SAN<\/span>.<\/li><li>Set <code class=\"\">archivePrefix<\/code> as the path to\u00a0root folder for archive staging that is set up on a shared network location, where the assets are moved-to after archiving, before going to the permanent archive location. For example, \u00a0<span class=\"keyword\">\\\\ES_SAN<\/span>.  <\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>If you are using high-res flow with Vantage, then under the section [<code class=\"\">VANTAGE - External<\/code>], set these properties: <ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\"><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">vantageServerURL<\/code> as your Vantage Server&#8217;s URL including the port. If you wish to configure a Vantage Server per Brand Vault in Zoom, please contact Evolphin Support.<\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">inPathPrefix<\/code> as the path to the high-res files on the Ingest Server. This path is on the mounted network location. For example, <span class=\"keyword\">\/mnt\/ES_SAN<\/span><\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">outPathMount<\/code> as the path to the high-res files on the Vantage Server. This path is on the mounted network location. For example, <span class=\"keyword\">\\\\zoom.test.evolphin.com\\ES_SAN<\/span><\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">proxyOutDir<\/code> as\u00a0the path on the Vantage Server where proxies generated by the Vantage Server will be saved. This path is on the mounted network location. For example, <span class=\"keyword\">Y:\\zoom-deploy\\vantage<\/span><\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">workflowName<\/code> as the\u00a0Vantage Workflow to be used for proxy generation. The default workflow shipped with VideoFX is named\u00a0<span class=\"keyword\">HiRes Ingest<\/span>.<\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">pollDuration<\/code> as the time duration in seconds after which the Ingest Server polls Vantage Server for status after submitting a transcoding request. The default value is <span class=\"keyword\">10<\/span>.<\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">sleepTime<\/code> as the time duration in seconds for which the Ingest Server waits during polling. The default value is <span class=\"keyword\">2<\/span>. <\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>If you are using direct ingest flow with Vantage, then under the section\u00a0[<code class=\"\">VANTAGE - Direct Ingested<\/code>], set these properties: <ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\"><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">vantageServerURL<\/code> as your Vantage Server&#8217;s URL including the port. If you wish to configure a Vantage Server per Brand Vault in Zoom, please contact Evolphin Support.<\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">inPathPrefix<\/code> as the path to the direct ingested files on the Ingest Server. This path is on the mounted network location. For example, <span class=\"keyword\">\/mnt\/ES_SAN<\/span><\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">outPathMount<\/code> as the path to the direct ingested files on the Vantage Server. This path is on the mounted network location. For example, <span class=\"keyword\">\\\\zoom.test.evolphin.com\\ES_SAN<\/span><\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">proxyOutDir<\/code> as\u00a0the path on the Vantage Server where proxies generated by the Vantage Server will be saved. This path is on the mounted network location. For example, <span class=\"keyword\">Y:\\zoom-deploy\\vantage<\/span><\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">workflowName<\/code> as the\u00a0Vantage Workflow to be used for proxy generation. The default value is <span class=\"keyword\">2<\/span>. <\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>Under section [<code class=\"\">VANTAGECONFIG<\/code>], set these properties (it is recommended to keep the default values unless you change the codecs used for encoding the proxies): <ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\"><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">proResExt<\/code> as the desired file format for pro-res files. Default\u00a0<span class=\"keyword\">mov<\/span><\/li><li>Set <code class=\"\">lowproxyExt<\/code> as the desired file format for low-res files.\u00a0Default\u00a0<span class=\"keyword\">mp4<\/span><\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">thumbExt<\/code> as the desired suffix and file format for the thumbnail file.\u00a0Default\u00a0<span class=\"keyword\">_1.jpg<\/span><\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">proResSuffix<\/code> as the desired suffix to be attached to pro-res files. By default it is empty, so the generated pro-res mezzanine proxy will not have a suffix added to its filename. <\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>The values in the section [<code class=\"\">METADATA<\/code>] are the data-exchange metadata fields defined on the Zoom MAM Server as described <a href=\"https:\/\/evolphin.com\/help\/administration-server\/video-fx\/configuring-zoom-videofx\/#checkmetadata\">here<\/a>. Under this section, set the following properties: <ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\"><li>Set <code class=\"\">mdGroupCodes<\/code> as the list of all metadata group codes used in your Vantage workflow; one metadata group code on each line, starting with &lt;&lt;EOL and ending with EOL. For example,<br><code class=\"\">mdGroupCodes=&lt;&lt;EOL<\/code><br><code class=\"\">VDEO<\/code><br><code class=\"\">PRVP<\/code><br><code class=\"\">NVPR<\/code><br><code class=\"\">EOL<\/code> <p>\u00a0<\/p> <div class=\"note\">Click <a href=\"https:\/\/evolphin.com\/help\/docs\/video-fx\/vantage-workflows\/#mdhiresworkflow\">here<\/a> to know more about metadata group codes in your Vantage workflow.<\/div> <\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">proxy<\/code> as the metadata field name (with group code) that indicates if this asset has a proxy; that means it is a high-res asset. For example, if the metadata field named <code class=\"\">Proxy<\/code> under metadata group\u00a0<code class=\"\">ZPIG<\/code> is used to indicate proxy status then set\u00a0<code class=\"\">proxy<\/code>=<span class=\"keyword\">ZPIG_Proxy<\/span>.<\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">hiResPath<\/code> as the metadata field name (with group code) that stores the location of the high-res file. For example,\u00a0<span class=\"keyword\">ZPIG_NativeFilePath<\/span>.<\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">proResFilePathMDField<\/code> as the metadata field name (with group code) that stores the location of the mid-res proxy file. For example, <span class=\"keyword\">ZPIG_ProResFilePath<\/span>.<\/li><li>If you are using Archive Module with VideoFX, then also set these properties, else skip this part: <ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-roman;\"><li>Set <code class=\"\">midresArchiveStatus<\/code> as the metadata field name (with group code) that indicates if the mid-res proxy is archived or not.\u00a0For example, <span class=\"keyword\">ZPIG_MidResArchiveStatus<\/span>.<\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">hiresArchiveStatus<\/code> as the metadata field name (with group code) that indicates if the high-res asset is archived or not.\u00a0For example, <span class=\"keyword\">ZPIG_HighResArchiveStatus<\/span>.<\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">directArchiveStatus<\/code> as the metadata field name (with group code) that indicates if direct ingest asset is archived or not.\u00a0For example, <span class=\"keyword\">ZPIG_DirectArchiveStatus<\/span>.<\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">lowresArchiveStatus<\/code> as the metadata field name (with group code) that indicates if the low-res proxy is archived or not.\u00a0For example, <span class=\"keyword\">ZPIG_LowResArchiveStatus<\/span>.  <\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>Under section [<code class=\"\">INGESTWORKFLOW<\/code>], set these properties: <ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\"><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">hiResFileNameSuffix<\/code> as the suffix to be appended to high-res files after ingest. For example, <span class=\"keyword\">_original<\/span>.<\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">nativefileTimeStampFormat<\/code> as the timestamp format to be used with the ingested high-res files. For example, <span class=\"keyword\">mmddyyyy-hh_mm_ss_mmm<\/span><\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">defaultExtProxy<\/code> as the default file extension to be used for proxy files. Default <span class=\"keyword\">mp4<\/span>.<\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">placeHolderAsset<\/code> as the path to the placeholder file as accessible from Zoom MAM Server. For example,\u00a0<span class=\"keyword\">\/home\/evolphin\/zoom-deploy\/PH.mov<\/span>.<\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">directIngestDirs<\/code> as a list of either paths or patterns that resolve as paths (pattern in PCRE &#8211; Perl Compatible Regular Expression), one on each line and contained within &lt;&lt;EOL and EOL. These paths are on the Ingest Server. Each of these paths\/directories will be monitored for direct ingest. For example, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">to monitor all directories matching Images, Vectors, Graphics, Music, or Exports for direct ingest on the Ingest Server,<\/span>\u00a0you could set this as <p><code class=\"\">directIngestDirs=&lt;&lt;EOL<\/code><br><code class=\"\"> \/.*\/Images\/<br> \/.*\/Vectors\/<br> \/.*\/Graphics\/<br> \/.*\/Music\/<\/code><br><code class=\"\"> \/.*\/Exports\/<\/code><br><code class=\"\"> EOL<\/code><\/p> <\/li><li>For <code class=\"\">directIngestDirs<\/code>, if you would like to include all directories for Direct Ingest except one (such as the <code class=\"\">hiresIngestDirs<\/code> configured below), you could use a Perl Compatible Regular Expression like the below, where <code class=\"\">\/zoom_video_ingest\/<\/code> is the name of the high-res ingest directory <p><code class=\"\">directIngestDirs=&lt;&lt;EOL<\/code><br><code class=\"\"> ^((?!\/zoom_video_ingest\/).)*$<br> EOL<\/code><\/p> <\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">directIngestFiles<\/code> as a list of either file-types or patterns that resolve as file-types (pattern in PCRE &#8211; Perl Compatible Regular Expression), one on each line and contained within &lt;&lt;EOL and EOL. Each of these file-types will be considered for direct ingest. For example, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">to consider file-types, prproj, pdf, jpeg, jpg, mp3, psd, png, and tif\u00a0for direct ingest<\/span>, you could set this as<br><code class=\"\">directIngestFiles=&lt;&lt;EOL<\/code><br><code class=\"\">\\.prproj$<\/code><br><code class=\"\">\\.pdf$<\/code><br><code class=\"\">\\.jpeg$<\/code><br><code class=\"\">\\.jpg$<\/code><br><code class=\"\">\\.mp3$<\/code><br><code class=\"\">\\.psd$<\/code><br><code class=\"\">\\.png$<\/code><br><code class=\"\">\\.tif$<\/code><br><code class=\"\">EOL<\/code><\/li><li>Set <code class=\"\">hiresIngestDirs<\/code> as a list of either paths or patterns that resolve as paths (pattern in PCRE &#8211; Perl Compatible Regular Expressions), one on each line and contained within &lt;&lt;EOL and EOL. These paths are on the Ingest Server. Each of these paths\/directories will be considered for high-res ingest. For example, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">to monitor all directories matching zoom_video_ingest, After Effects Renders, Exports\/For Review, Footage, and Media for high-res ingest on the Ingest Server,<\/span>\u00a0you could set this as<br><code class=\"\">hiresIngestDirs=&lt;&lt;EOL<\/code><br><code class=\"\">\/.*\/zoom_video_ingest\/<\/code><br><code class=\"\">\/.*\/After Effects Renders\/<\/code><br><code class=\"\">\/.*\/Exports\/For Review\/<\/code><br><code class=\"\">\/.*\/Footage\/<br> \/.*\/Media\/<\/code><br><code class=\"\">EOL<\/code><\/li><li>Set <code class=\"\">hiresIngestFiles<\/code> as a list of file-types or patterns that resolve as file-types (pattern in PCRE &#8211; Perl Compatible Regular Expression), one on each line and contained within &lt;&lt;EOL and EOL. Each of these file-types will be considered for high-res ingest. For example, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">to consider file-types, mp4, mxf, mov, and mts\u00a0for high-res ingest<\/span>, you could set this as<br><code class=\"\">hiresIngestFiles=&lt;&lt;EOL<\/code><br><code class=\"\">\\.mp4$<\/code><br><code class=\"\">\\.mxf$<\/code><br><code class=\"\">\\.mov$<\/code><br><code class=\"\">\\.mts$<\/code><br><code class=\"\">EOL<\/code><\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">fileSizeLimitOnDirectIngest<\/code> as a flag to specify if a max file size limit should also be applied to direct ingest. If it is set to <span class=\"keyword\">1<\/span>, the max file size limit is applied and if it is set to <span class=\"keyword\">0<\/span>, the file size limit is not applied. See <a href=\"#directfiletypesize\">FILETYPESIZELIMIT<\/a>\u00a0section on how the max limit is enforced per file extension. This is used to avoid directly ingesting very large files in the Zoom MAM database.<\/li><li>The above settings should be used in conjunction with the <a href=\"https:\/\/evolphin.com\/help\/docs\/zoom-client\/general-settings\/#add-to-global-ignore-pattern-on-zoom-client\">ignore file patterns<\/a>\u00a0on Zoom Client machines to prevent from ingesting any file type\/file patterns such as camera card manifest files. <\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>If you are using Archive module, then under the section [<code class=\"\">JOBFORM<\/code>],\u00a0set the names of Archive and Restore jobs as defined <a href=\"#above\">above<\/a>. If you are not using the Archive module, then skip this step. Set these properties as per the jobs created: <ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\"><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">restoreHiresJobName<\/code>\u00a0as the restore job for high-res assets.<\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">restoreProresJobName<\/code>\u00a0as the restore job for mid-res assets.<\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">archiveHiresJobName<\/code>\u00a0as the archive job for high-res assets.<\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">archiveProresJobName<\/code>\u00a0as the archive job for mid-res assets. <\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>Under section [<code class=\"\">LEGACYINFO<\/code>], set these properties: <ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\"><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">doHiresMoveOnIngest<\/code> as a flag to specify if high-res files should be moved to post ingest location after successful ingest. If it is set to <span class=\"keyword\">1<\/span>, the high-res file is moved from the source path to that specified in the next property. If it is set to <span class=\"keyword\">0<\/span>, the high-res file is not moved from the source path.<\/li><li>Set\u00a0<code class=\"\">postIngestPath<\/code> to the location of the path where the high-res files should be moved after successful ingest. When set to 1, the archiving will happen automatically right after ingest (for high-res and after creation for mid-res), so that archive auto tasks using Zoom&#8217;s internal archiving module are not triggered at all.<br>When set to 0, archiving does not happen automatically after ingest. Rather, it is triggered manually by the user for specific assets.
